The cool night breeze caresses me,
Moving an ocean within me,
Feeling life's richness surround me,
Like a giant brocade of Egyptian silk,
and I knew you,
With your dazzling eyes,
Golden like a slate of copper in
the rippling deep, emeralds in the wake;
Brimming with hope, love, sincerity
Illuminated by honesty-
And I knew you, as never before
Like we had always been.
I stood before you, naked and exposed,
with unbelieving eyes cast downward-
Afraid that the sun would fade
and with it, take my light.
